Where do I begin... From the uninformed staff too the lackluster food, this place will NOT be on my radar for future lunch spots. As I am not a frequent customer, I have a couple questions about the menu. The girl behind the counter slides me a piece of paper with vague descriptions of sandwiches on it. From this, I pick out an Italian sandwich and a meatball panini. I figure, hey it's an Italian deli, they can't screw this up... WRONG. There are two types of meat on the Italian sandwich, didn't realize that meant one slice of each. What a disappointment, because the bread and dressing were actually quite enjoyable. So on to that meatball... Have you ever had a meatball sandwich without marinara on it? Neither have I... Until today. My girlfriend took one bite and said "I'm done." I tried it assuming she was being finicky, nope. There is more moisture in the Sahara than there was in that sandwich. All in all a disappointing experience. Oh, almost forgot. After waiting about 15min for my 2 carryout sandwiches, the girl sets the cartons down on the counter and walks away. I ask for a bag and she keeps going. Apparently there is a bag crisis that I am unaware of. I mean I already had one bag full of chips, drinks, and cannoli. So I dump all that out, put the sandwiches in and start adding the other things back where they barely fit... And to my amazement the other lady behind the counter actually says "well, looks like we make the customers bag their own to-go's now" and fucking snickers at me. UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE. I promptly reminded her that "I'm a big boy, and can handle it ALL on my own." I threw a couple bucks in her pity, I mean tip jar and hightailed it outta there. I feel like I'm rambling here so I won't go into detail about the unfortunate nature of the cannoli, but jarred cherries and nestle chocolate chips do NOT belong in there. Long story short, get it together Nino's. You're sitting on a potential gold mine and you're dropping the ball like Michael Finley circa 2012.

Decent selection. I thought they would have more pastries. They almost seemed a few days old. Two sandwiches, two sodas, a small container of capresi salad( three tomatoes and three slices of mozzarella) and a small container of octopus salad......almost $40....... Not impressed!!! Did I mention one slice of mortadella, Salalame ,capocollo. Etc.....not a good experience

My personal favorite is the spicy turkey sandwich.... I've been going there regularly for about 13 years now. Great place to eat with great service.

I think I'll need a few visits to get a better feel for this place, but my one stop in was pretty good. Got a grilled panini, but it was a difficult choice as their whole sandwich menu was full of great options. Had to steer clear of the actual bakery counters this time, but what I caught out of the corner of my eye as I was trying to avoid temptation looked amazing. Service was friendly. And they have Vanilla Coke. Rock on. (More confusion from the yelp map trying to handle a MF address--this is on Main/74 and Appleton.)

Status report: Nino's is still utterly fantastic. And so are their breakfast sandwiches. For around $3, you get an a la carte sandwich on their homemade, toasted bread with ham, cheese, scrambled egg, and your choice of bacon or sausage. Or, if you're a fatty glutton like me, get it with all the meats! The Deli Girls get it all nice and melty, too, so you can very easily take it in the car with out having to worry about it falling apart in your lap during your drive to work. Being that Nino's uses actual, recognizable FOOD versus mechanically separated, unidentifiable animal parts, their sammiches are a much better breakfast option than those offered at the other popular, well-known burger chains of DOOM. Oh, and there's also that whole "support your local businesses" mumbo jumbo, too.

It is actually a 3.5. Good sandwiches and super friendly staff. Also a nice central spot for a casual business lunch. Rates only a three because I am not a big fan of their bakery items, but that is just me. Definitely worth a try.

This is my bakery. No, I don't own it, but this is where I head for breads, pies, ham, and whatever suits my fancy. Their octopus salad is INCREDIBLE! If you are from the MKE, then you know hot ham and rolls are a must for Sunday brunch. Get here early. They go through several hams and hundreds of rolls (I recommend the butter rolls) Sunday morning and they almost always sell out before the Catholic Mass ends. They still sell homemade eclairs and crawlers. (Divine!) Also if you need a meal for later in the week, the frozen fresh freezer has sauces, pastas, lasagna and other itmes you can make later on. I suggest getting to know the ladies that work here. They are lovely, but may seem a tad cold at first. Trust me, they care about you and their business and most importantly their products. My dad will not let me cross the state line to see him unless I bring one of Nino's pumpkin pies.

Yes, yes and yes. Yes to everything about this bakery/deli and the people who run it. A gang of beautiful Italian sisters seem to split duties here making and selling some of the greatest Italian cookies, breads, donuts, pastries, and salads you could ever imagine. I lived downtown for a long time and was spoiled by the great East Side/Brady St bakeries down there. Nino's is of that caliber. Even if it is just for the $2 loaves of Italian bread, it is well worth a stop.

When you picture an authentic Italian bakery in your mind what do you see? Pastries, loaves of warm bread, wheels of cheese, deli meats, homemade pastas and sauce? You'll realize here that dreams do come true! Plus, spaghetti dinner (I can't remember what day of the week) nights and Sunday hot ham and rolls. But, get there early because they always sell out!

Have purchased donuts or other bakery from here a few times. On Fat Tuesday they had pancki (spelling?). Came in this morning for breakfast and had a delicious ham, egg, cheese panini. The cheese Geneovese was awesome! It's an Italian cookie with their (great) cannoli cream inside. Yum! Will absolutely be back to try other dinner type items.

Nino's is by far my favorite lunch spot anywhere. The Panini's and soups are fantastic and the prices are very reasonable. My personal favorite is the Italian Pepper Steak Panini. Furthermore, all of the staff is extremely friendly. Even better is that Nino's is also now open for dinner now tuesday-thursday. Nino's is as good as it gets!

Stopped in for an early lunch at 11am. I had the Italian Panini, Capigola, mozzarella, olives, seasonings. They use their own Italian bread! Very tasty sandwich. I also had the house salad, generous portion. The vinaigrette dressing was also very nice, not overpowering and the salad was not swimming in it. Bought some fresh Italian bakery!! Cannoli's to write home about! Our family stops here every Sunday after church for the Ham and Roll special. 1 pound of there seasoned ham you get 6 homemade rolls with the Ham! They carry imported olive oils and vinegars. Pick out some pretty nice imported Italian wines too. In the freezers look for dinners to take home and make. Or, frozen octopus so you can make your own salad at home. They have tables and chairs in the bakery, nothing fancy. You eat with plastic silverware and paper plates. But you enjoy your meal in the awesome smell of the bakery and Italian music in the background.
